Bartel Lott (Bartholomew Engelbertszen Loti, Lott, Lodt, Loot and Loth) was the son of Engelbert and brother of Peter, was a French Huguenot, who emigrated from a point near the Lotte river [Ruinerwold, Drenthe, Netherlands], in the year 1652, and settled in Flatbush, Kings county, New York. He was born about 1630 and married Harmantje Van Reynerwout on 16 December 1662 In the Reformed Dutch Church of New Amsterdam. In 28 July 1663 Edward Griffen conveyed to "Bartel Lot and Pieter Loot" bouwery No. 9, in "Midwout,"next to the Pastor's‘land, 600 Rods in length and 24 in breadth, long 24 morgens, as per book G.G. in Office of the Secretary of State, Albany, N.Y. 1665.
Peter and Bartel initially bought and sold their first land together, but records indicate that Bartel lived in Richmond county, Staten Island, and on April 10, 1708, “he was lately deceased, intestate, and Letters of Administration were granted to his only son, Engelbert." In 1670, Barthel Lott and his wife Harmantje, took Oath of Allegiance and joined the Reformed Dutch Church in New York. He signed his name Bartel Lot. His only son Engel was baptized 16 February 1663 in the Reformed Dutch Church, New Amsterdam, Sponsors with Pieter Loth, Engelbert Steenhuyszen and Magdalena Van Vleck. His daughter Anna Maria was baptized 4 January 1668 in the Reformed Dutch Church, Port Richmond, Stratton Island. Sponsors: Pieter Loth, Isaac VanVleck and Gerritje Lamberts. Peter Lott, a common ancestor of the Lott family in America, was a French Huguenot who emigrated with his brother Bartholomew or Bartlet to America in 1652. They came from a point near the Lotte river which today is called Ruinerwold, Drenthe, Netherlands and settled in July 28, 1653 on land they purchased in Flatbush, Kings county, New York. He married Gertrude Lamberts, who died in 1704. He and Gertrude were both members of the Flatbush Reformed Dutch Church in 1677. The name Lott, spelled differently even by Peter, was Loot, Lodt, Loti, Lot or Loth. In 25 January 1662 Peter and his brother obtained a “Patent” for 24 Morgens of land in Flatbush, which he sold March 22, 1674, to Jan Cornelise Boomgaert. His name appears on Governor Dongan's Patent of Flatbush in 1685, of which town he was a Magistrate in 1656, and in 1673, and where he took Oath of Allegiance 1687. From a map on file in the Office of the Secretary of State in Albany, New York, made by "Ja. Cortelyou, sworn surveyor," filed Aug. 8, 1681, of six farms in Flatbush, it appears that "Pieter Lott" owned a farm on the west side of the "highway to the ferry" south of Dominie Polhemius‘s double lot and north of that of "Klyn Dirk". Edward Griffen conveyed this land to "Bartel Lot and Peter Loot.” Peter signed his name "Peter Lot" and "Peter Lodt."
The known child born to Peter was Engelbart who died 30 April 1730 in Flatbush, Long Island and married Cornelia de la Noy daughter of Abraham de la Noy on 27 October 1678. His second child Catrina, married Douwe Jansen on 22 September 1687. He died prior to 1755 and was the son of Jan Jansen and Adrienna Van Ditmarsen. Peter's child Abraham had four wives; the 1st was Claesje Langestraet; 2nd Geertje Jans Dorlandt, baptised 19 August 1674; 3rd Sara, and 4th Marytie. Hendrick, born 10 May 1654, died 1728 and married Catrina do Witt, baptized 17 May 1654, She reportedly died in 1734 and was the daughter of Peter Jansen de Witt. In 1721, his son Peter died in Hopewell, New Jersey and was married to Nishe. John or the name Johannes per land deed is the last known child.
From a map on file in the Office of the Secretary of State in Albany, New York made by Ja Cortelyou, sworn surveyor, filed 8 August 1681 of six farms in Flatbush, it appears that "Pieter Lott" owned a farm on the west side of the "highway to the ferry" south of Dominie Polhemius‘s double lot. This is the land that Edward Griffen conveyed to Bartel Lot and Peter Loot in Flatbush. In this document Peter signed his name Peter Lot and Peter Lodt.

Mary Lott arrived in New England with her mother, Sarah, and stepfather Adam Mott in 1635 on board the Defense from Cambridge. They arrived into Massachusetts and later removing to Portsmouth, RI. She married her step-brother Adam Mott.

Mary [Lott] Mott wrote her will on 12 February 1710/11. She named her children:

(3) Elizabeth [Mott] Wing
(4) Abigail [Mott] Hefferland

Her son-in-law Daniel Lawton, husband of daughter Rebecca, witnessed the will, as well as her half-brother Jacob Mott.

Hendrick Lott , son of Peter and Gertrude Lott, was born May 10, 1654, Flatbush, L.I., died 1728, Jamaica, L.I., married about 1684, Catrinade Witt , born May 10, 1654; died 1734, the daughter of Peter Jansen de W1tt.
After his marriage to Catrina De Witt, he and his wife settled at Jamaica, where he purchased thirty-seven acres of land of William Creed in 1683. He took the Oath of Allegiance at Flatbush 1687, and belonged to the Military Company
there. Lands mentioned in his will, which was dated April 15, 1728; and proved Sept. 6, 1728, were from a tract of twelve hundred acres at Millstone, NewJersey that he in partnership with Polhemius and Cortelyou bought in 1701. His will reads as follows:
1728. April 15. In the Nameof God, Amen. I, Hendrick Lodt, of Newtownein Queens county, Yeoman,being sick. All debts to be paid - I leave to my wife Catrina all the land and meadowbelonging to me in Kings county with all appurtenances - the present plantation on which I dwell, and which I bought of Richard Scudder, lying and being in the bounds of Newtown, and all mypersonal estate of every kind soever to her during her widowhood.
I leave to my son Peter Lodt my trooping horse pistols and holster and carbine for his right of first born. I leave to mysons Peter and Johannes all my lands and Meadowsin Newtownand all my lands in Jamaica after their mother's decease or marriage, and all mylands and meadows in Kings county and they are to pay their sister Dorothy, wife of William Remsen, Gertruyt, wife of Andries Onderdonck, and Mary £100 each within three years after they'come in possession. All my lands in Nova Caesaria (NewJersey), and all the rest of my estate I leave to my children. I make my wife and sons, Executors.

Peter Lott , son of Peter and Gertrude Lott, was born about 1660/70; died 1721, Hopewell, N.J.; married Nishe (Dutch for Ann, Anna or Hannah, and more frequently spelled Neatje, Natje, Annatje, etc»)­ 1698. Hempstead, L.I., both Peter and his wife Nishe Lott, appear in the Census Records. As Peter was married at this time, and head of a family, he very
evidently was not the Peter, born 1682, nor the one born 1690, as claimed by numerous authorities.'
In 1703, he was a resident of Newtown,L.I., and in 1708, purchased land in Maidenhead, N.J., at which time he may have moved there. His records are as follows 1703 March 3. Peter Lott of Newtownand Nisie his wife of the one part
and Nicholas Berrien of the sameplace of the other part sd Peter Lott and his wife for and in consideration of the sum of 700 Pounds and sold unto Nicholas Berrien land .
His will dated 1720. Dec. 11. Peter Lot was as follows: "In the Name of God Amen. I, Peter Lot of Hopewell, in the county of Hunterdon and in the province of NewJersey, Yeoman, being sick and weak in body the of sound mind and
memory,thanks be given to God, Therefore calling to mind the mortality of mybody and the shortness and uncertainty of human life Do make and .......this mylast will and Testamentviz: Mywill is that mylands and Tenaments both here and at Burlington be sold by my Executors and my debts paid out of same. And I give and bequeath unto Nishe my dearly beloved wife one Third part to her and her heirs and assigns forever. Item: I give and be queath unto my five children
all the remainder of myestate goods chattels to go equally (except six shillings which I give my son Peter more than to the rest), Moreover mywill is that my Dearly beloved wife aforesaid, and my loving sons Peter Lot and John Phillips be Executors.

Abraham Lott, the son of Peter and Gertrude Lott, died in 1766. He married lst Claelaesje Langstaet born in 1677. She was the daughter of Derick Stoffelsz Langestraat, who emigrated in 1657 and Catharina Van Leuven his wife. Johanna Havens, widow of Johannis Holsaert, was the 2nd wife of Derick Langestraat, and the one who was a sponsor at Jan Lott's baptism in 1696. Abraham Lott married 2nd Geertje Jandodrlandl, born in Bedford and baptized August 19, 1674 in the Reformed Dutch Church, Brooklyn, Colony of New York. His 3rd marriage was to Sara and his 4th was to Marytie. He was married to all four wives consecutively and all are named in his will.
Abraham Lott lived in Brooklyn after his marriage to Claesie Langstraet because in the Brooklyn Church records on 25 April 1696, Abraham Lott and Claesje Langstraet had Jan Lott. Peter Lott of New York was baptized 31 October 1696 at Jamaica and was also a son of Abraham and Claesje Lott. The records show that Abraham moved to Jamaica where his brother Hendrick lived just before 1696. Isaac Lott, 1704, was a son of Abraham and his 2nd wife Geertje. This appears to be their only child. Abraham Lott must have married his third wife Sara between Isaac's birth in 1704iand Jacob's birth in 1716. Between 1716 and 1718, he had again married for a fourth time, Maria or Marytie, as his last three children were born 1718, 1720 and 1722. The Dutch Reformed Church, Brooklyn, marriages gives 2 August 1699 as the date of Abram Lott's marriage to Geertje Jans Dorlandt.
Abraham Lott, made his will 21 July 1760 stating he was "far advanced in age." It was proved 4 September 1766 and reads as follows: “ In the Name of God, Amen, I, Abraham Lott, of Jamaica, in Queens County, being in perfect health, but far advanced in age, and considering that I have but a short time to continue in this transitory life. I leave to my son, Rem Lott, all my horses, wagons, ploughs, and all my carpenter tools; also all my lands, meadowsand messuages in Jamaica or elsewhere; And he is to provide me a comfortable maintainance during my natural life, and he is to pay to the rest of my children £504. as follows:
To my daughter Charity, now wife of Nicholas Van Arsdalen, of Jamaica, L.I., 72 pounds; to my son Hendrick, 72 pounds; to my son Jacob, 72 pounds, to my son, Isaac, 72 pounds; to my three grandchildren, the children of my deceased son, Abraham, viz: Abraham Motije, and Cornelius, 72 pounds; to my son, John, 72 pounds. Residue and remaining part of sand 504£ to son Peter. All the rest of my estate, I leave to my children. I make my sons, Peter, John and Rem, Executors.

Engelbart Lott was the son Peter and Gertrude Lott and died 30 April 1730. On 27 October 1678, at the Dutch Reformed Church, New York, he married Cornelia De LaNoy, the daughter of Abraham, who was French and a resident New York City. Engelbart Lott settled at New Castle, on the west bank of the Delaware River, about thirty-five miles below Philadelphia. At the time of his marriage he owned a considerable tract of land and marsh on Christiana Creek, in New Castle County, and two lots in the town of New Castle. He continued to hold on to those acres for several years following his move to Long Island, but he eventually sold the land by deed, Sept. 1, 1707, to Abraham Santford, John Harbadink, and Jane Tuttle.
Toward the end of 1682, New Castle became united with the Province of Pennsylvania, under William Penn. Shortly after this unification took place, Engelbart took the Oath of Allegiance and promised fidelity and lawful obedience to William Penn, the Proprietor and Governor of that province, in compliance with an act passed at Chester at the Colonial Legislature of Pennsylvania. Although he was on good terms and had a friendship with Governor Penn, in 1682 he and his wife Cornelia moved to Flatbush on Long Island with plans to live there permanently. In December of that year, he and Cornelia were admitted on certificate, as members in full communion of the Reformed Dutch Church of Flatbush. In 1688 he hired, for farming purposes, a tract of land from the church of Flatbush. In 1709, he disposed of his house and two acres of land, and purchased a farm from the Reverend Theodorus Polhemus, the first minister of the Reformed Dutch Churches in Kings. In 1698 he was appointed High Sheriff of the Kings county. Engelbart lived on his farm until the time of his death, in 1730. He signed his name Engel Bart Lott.
